About this conference
SHRM27 is the flagship annual conference of the Society for Human Resource Management, historically drawing 20,000-25,000 HR professionals and several hundred exhibitors, and returning to McCormick Place in Chicago. SHRM has announced that the 2027 edition is being redesigned around a curated curriculum, level-matched networking and an earned SHRM credential, a departure from the pick-your-own-sessions format long-time attendees will remember. The audience is practitioners across generalist HR, employee relations, benefits and compliance rather than technology buyers, and SHRM membership lowers the registration rate enough to be worth weighing against the cost of joining. Sessions carry recertification credit, which is a large part of why people come. For vendor evaluation the HR Technology Conference is the better event, and for early-stage work tech, Transform.
