About this conference

PAX West is the original Penny Arcade Expo and remains the largest of the PAX events, drawing 90,000+ attendees to Seattle over Labor Day weekend. It is a consumer show first: the expo hall carries major publisher booths alongside a substantial indie showcase, and the programme runs panels, tournaments, tabletop free-play, cosplay and concerts across four days. Unlike a trade-only event, badges are sold to the public and typically sell out well in advance, often months before the show. Tabletop occupies a genuinely large footprint rather than a token corner, and the indie sections are where most attendees find things they had not heard of. Developers attend, but PAX is not a business conference — for industry dealmaking, GDC in March is the relevant event.
