About this conference

The Midyear Meeting is the American Bar Association's winter governance gathering, and governance is genuinely the centre of it: the House of Delegates convenes to debate and vote on policy resolutions, while sections, divisions, commissions and standing committees hold their own working meetings around it. CLE programming runs alongside, but the meeting is aimed at bar leaders, delegates, section officers and association staff rather than at practitioners shopping for credit hours. It draws roughly 2,000-3,000 bar leaders, delegates and legal professionals. Much of the schedule is open at no charge, with tickets required for meal functions and certain programmes, so the real cost depends on which events matter to an attendee. Lawyers who want breadth of CLE and a larger social programme are better served by the summer Annual Meeting.
