About this conference

KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America is the Cloud Native Computing Foundation's flagship event, bringing 12,000+ attendees to Detroit for deep technical sessions on Kubernetes, service mesh, observability, security and GitOps. What separates it from vendor conferences is governance: the programme is CFP-selected by a community committee, maintainer tracks put project maintainers directly in front of users, and project updates come from the people who write the code rather than from marketing. Co-located events run the day before the main conference and require separate registration — these are often the most valuable sessions for people working deeply in one project. The audience is platform engineers, SREs and infrastructure developers. Sessions are recorded and published free afterwards, so many attendees prioritise hallway track and maintainer access over talks.
