DESCRIPTION:NSTA's spring National Conference on Science Education is the main US professional-development event for K-12 science teachers\, science coordinators and administrators\, and its sessions are led overwhelmingly by practising educators rather than by vendors. Four days of concurrent sessions sit alongside ticketed workshops and short courses that require separate registration\, plus an exhibit hall of curriculum publishers\, lab equipment suppliers and instructional-materials companies where classroom samples and giveaways are common. Programming is organised by grade band and by discipline\, so elementary generalists and high school specialists can each build a coherent schedule. NSTA membership reduces the registration rate enough that joining first often costs less than registering as a non-member.
